Dr. Valerie Smith is a public health expert and passionate advocate for underserved communities. With a PhD and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH), she has dedicated her career to improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations and addressing health disparities. Currently serving as a lecturer in the Department of Public Health at California State University, East Bay, Dr. Smith brings extensive experience in public health research and education.
At the Afghan Coalition, Dr. Smith leads the Afghan Health Leadership Consortium (AHLC), a critical initiative focused on enhancing health resources and leadership opportunities for Afghan refugees in the Bay Area and beyond. Her work is instrumental in empowering the Afghan community through improved healthcare access and advocacy.
