Fariba's Journey to Self-Sufficiency
Discover how the Afghan Coalition is transforming lives through our Entrepreneur Support Initiative called Microenterprise Project funded by our donor, the City of Fremont.
I was facing significant challenges after recently immigrating to America, struggling with adjusting to a new country and supporting my family. The Afghan Coalition provided crucial support to help me overcome these challenges.
In January 2024, I began receiving assistance from the Afghan Coalition, including guidance on starting a small business, food handler training and certificates, marketing support, and training on labeling and creating product sales packages. They also assisted me in obtaining A DUNS number for my business, to help me establish and build business credit.
Since then, I have experienced tremendous positive changes. These include becoming capable and self-sufficient, earning a living, and supporting my small family through my baking business. This story shows the effectiveness of our Entrepreneur Support Program.
I never imagined I could turn my passion for baking into a way to support my family. The Afghan Coalition made it possible, says Fariba.
With continued support from the Afghan Coalition, Fariba looks forward to expanding her business and creating a stable future for her children. We remain committed to helping individuals like Fariba achieve lasting change.
The Afghan Coalition is proud to be part of Fariba's journey. Together, we can create a brighter future for many more.
